You are more than your D.N.A., more than your biological programming!
Your life is important ! !
Your life is important on a bigger scale than what this world can measure. Your life is important on a cosmic scale, on the scale of the universe. The Creator, your Heavenly Father, does not want you to surrender to less. He is in eternity. He created this world, and He made you for eternity, not for only a brief life of 70, 80, or 90 years on this earth!
Your life has meaning beyond this world. If you were only biological cells, then you would die with your body. Your meaning would be very shallow. Your years on earth, whether long or short, would ending in nothing. The value of life would be no more than your D.N.A., the sum of chemical reactions through the proteins of molecular science that live and then die.
You are much more than living proteins. One music writer said that you have the hand prints of your maker on you. You do. He revealed His Name as the Lord, the Creator of the Universe, and as His Son whom we know to be Jesus, the King of the ages. When you look in the mirror, you should see the reflection of your Heavenly Father, in whose image and likeness you are made. What if you saw no reflection? People that do not find their meaning beyond this world, really see no reflection. Those people do not know who they are. When you center your life on Jesus and His Words, and on your Heavenly Father, you take on His image of love, faith, strength, peace, joy, health, soundness, and life. Jesus said that you should have life more abundantly. If I don't have this life, is it my fault or His. The Answer? My fault.
As a human being, you have a right to the truth, to hear the truth, to know the truth. Jesus declared Himself to be the Son of God.
He did not ask you to accept this truth on blind faith. He gave you all the reasons you need to believe. When Jesus was in the earth, his cousin, John the Baptist, said the Spirit of God told him that Jesus is the Son of God. There were two occasions when a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son...." The New Testament has writers, four of which wrote the Gospels, people named Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John who reported eye witness accounts of what Jesus did before He was murdered. Jesus announced the words of heaven with the power of miracles. He told the people of His day, "If you don't believe Me, believe the miracles that I do."
Most importantly, Jesus said to those who rejected Him, "The only sign I will show you is this: destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again." He was speaking of His body.
The indisputable truth, fact if you will, is that Jesus rose from the dead, proving that He is who He said He is. If that is true, then He can and will make Himself real to people. He did to me. If you are sincere, He will also to you, and to anyone that calls upon Him and seeks to know Him with a sincere heart.
Some have said that there are many paths to truth. Jesus said that He is the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Him.
Jesus came into the earth, to be part of human life, to experience human suffering of the worse kind, because that was the only way to free you, to free me, to free your family, your friends, your neighbors. Jesus was not making an easier way to get into Heaven's perfection. He was presenting and fulfilling the only way. If any other truth would have made it possible for people to enter Heaven's perfection, Jesus would not have come, would not have been tortured to death in being beaten, hung on a cross, and stabbed in His side with a spear.
His death was too horrific, too brutal, too painful for the Son of God to experience for this to happen through God's desire unless there was no other way.
So do you know how Jesus could be from heaven and still be a human being? As you probably know about Christmas, Jesus did not just pop out of the sky. However, He was in Heaven from the beginning of time. How is this possible?
Let's look at it this way. When Jesus was on the cross dying, He said, "Father, to you I commit my spirit," and Jesus breathed His last breath and died. At that moment Jesus' the person, meaning His Spirit and His Soul left His body. This will happen when you die. Your human spirit and your soul will also leave your body. Back to Jesus: you can see when He died that His Spirit and Soul left His body. Now go back to the virgin birth. When the Angel told the virgin Mary that you will have a child, the Angel said that the Holy Spirit will form a pregnancy in Mary's womb. When this happened, the Spirit and Soul of the Son of God went into the fertile cell at the very moment of pregnancy in Mary's womb.
From eternity, from the beginning of time, the Son of God had been a Spirit and Soul being in heaven, like an angel, but the Son of God. At the time of Mary's conception, this person left heaven and went into the fertile cell, making it a living baby that would grow until birth.
The baby was named, "Jesus" after birth. Jesus as a person, as the Son of God, lived before His birth. This is not true of any other human baby, (though some world religions claim differently). Jesus is unique. This is truth. He said, "I am...the truth." When Jesus made that statement, all other ways are false. You cannot have two truths that do not agree with each other. Jesus knew who He was, what He was saying, and where He came from. He wanted us to know. You have a right from Him to hear and know the truth.
Your last need is for revealed truth, sometimes called revelation knowledge. He must make His truth real to you by His Spirit. This is why His followers are willing to follow Him IN LOVE to the death. This is why they took courage after His resurrection, after He appeared to them. God's Spirit made them different. They knew something intimately that only comes from God, the Father, and Jesus the Son making this real to the human heart by God's Spirit. This is believing. This is a loyal faith, an undying faith, that follows Jesus to the end of the world and to the end of our days. He is worth the cost.
We have bibles in everyday English, and we go by the page numbers. Don't get hung up on trying to find a book in the bible!
